Hector's used to be known as Harrison Baking Company my father worked there when I was very young he took me to work and soon as I walked in the building I smelled this outrageous smell and I said oh my God that smells so good my father looked at me and said wait it gets better when we went in to get the muffins which they used to be extremely famous for outrageous so I asked my dad why do you have a stick of butter and he said wait I'll tell you in a bit about 20 minutes later he comes out with multiple bags and I don't know what was in them but whatever was smell fantastic it was the hot rolls that just came out of the oven he pulled out his knife sliced the roles open load it with the buttery hat we had two cups of coffee and I was like Blown Away nothing like a fresh roll coming out of a hot oven with fresh melted butter on it and a cup of job I used to love going out with him God Rest his soul it's fantastic always come by the store and pick up bread rolls and rolls & you will not be disappointed..
Always fresh, have lots of choices, always good quality and quantity. I drive about 45 minutes to get bread here. Going up to get bread for Florida family. They take alot back home. Rye bread is the best in new jersey

Best rye bread anywhere....especially the Russian and Jewish rye loaves...best sandwiches and best toast as a result. im in my mid fifties and have been coming to the little retail outlet at the bakery since i was probably 2 and lived in the ironbound...now i buy their bread in Kings and Shoprite in western NJ but occasionally make an early morning run to Harrison for the fresh unsliced loves ( their Babka is great too...not made there anymore but still great)..just miss those lovely salt sticks you used to sell...thanks for a lifetime of enjoyment...my 90 year old mom asks for your bread all the time!

Our family has been going to Pechter"s for over 80 yrs an we will continue to enjoy their wonderful an tasty baked goods for another 80 yrs. Best bakery ever.
